The Story of a Dude

This is the story of a dude who likes a girl but lacks encourage to tell her. He doesn't know when is the right time and opportunity to do so. So the dude decides to give subtle hints and thinks of what to get for her for friendship day. Finally he decides to get a book and send it to her, keeping his fingers crossed. He awaits anxiously for a reply from her and later saw that she thanked him for the book on her blog.

However, though he was glad that the book got to her safely, he was kind of puzzled that she did not give him a personal word of thanks. What does this mean? Did she merely forget to personally thank him? Or does she not want to give the dude the wrong idea? What did she think of the dude's gift?

The dude ponders and waits...

Dude, bit of a conundrum you got there.

Hard to say due to many overriding factors but a few perspectives can be:

1.) The feelings are mutual and the girl is shy to make a direct response.
2.) The feelings are not mutual and the girl does not want to respond in order to not send the wrong signal.
3.) The feels are mutual, pondering on how to respond.
4.) The girl thinks/knows the person probably read the blog so sees it as unnecessary to make a direct response (rather rude tho...)

thats all I can really think of, maybe the Dude should consult a gal, they tend to be more intuitive with this kinda stuff =)
